I came out (was kicked out) of 'my' cult in 2006. It took me five years to leave the cult also mentally and psychologically (2011), reading about what a cult is and does. Your books have been a great help to me Dr. Hassan. Thank you so much. And thank you so much for working relentlessly at making clear to the general pucblic how mindcontrol works and how it is happening all around us right now. I think in these times, that is also a very brave thing to do.
One year May 12th for me. I’ve seen so many things that have cult like dynamics since then. From sex trafficking, to political parties, to abusive relationships, to bad business partnerships. It’s wild how these things are all over. Thank you for doing what you do
I respect your unique journey Steve. Sorry for your early struggles. Still, there are many like myself who have had a wonderful life as Unificationists and wouldnt change a thing. I joined also in the mid 70's and am now a retired librarian, and have a beautiful family, and we're living a good life in a loving 'moonie' community in our hometown. All the best to you and your community of anti-faith : - )

I recently listened to a podcast by Tim Whitaker who started The New Evangelical Movement.
He briefly told his story of growing up in what today is called Christian Nationalists and how he got out. Followed by outlining clearly what they are, what they want, etc.
I would like to suggest you feature him as a guest on your podcast.
I've been in several cults (not all as devastating as the Moonies, but cults nevertheless.) I too had those moments when I realized I had to go. -- but in my case, fell right into the traps of other groups because I was so hungry for truth that the normal world couldn't seem to give me. Now, years later, I've been trained as a counsellor and would love to be called upon to help those leaving cults. Please call on me if yu see a niche for me in this. .
