Dear Steve,

I’ve heard of cases where an investigative journalist intends to go undercover in a cult with the intention of exposing it. Only, the journalist actually ends up joining the cult. How does this happen, given that the person enters, fully aware that they are infiltrating a cult and presumably aware of past scandals?
