Talking to Your Kids About Cults (By Age)
A Developmental Guide for Parents | Part 1
This guide will cover ages 5-18 in a two-part series. This is part one; part two is here.
Throughout my decades of helping families affected by destructive influences, I’ve noticed that the children best protected against manipulation aren’t the ones who are sheltered from the world.
Instead, children need to understand that the world contains criminals and manipulative forces, and they need a foundation of trusted people to guide them in making informed choices. It’s about making them aware that the world canbe manipulative, while providing them with safe and trusted people to help them make good decisions.
And these days? Influence is omnipresent. It’s your mobile phone, and it’s likely in your back pocket.
